Agreed. You could call much of what Kochetkov does a reptilian brain reaction - it's an autonomic response that is wired for instinctive action and survival.
I think that's correct. When I saw the replay on the Jumbotron, I thought waving your arms in the air (and possibly crying to the ref) was a mistake, especially for a rookie. It still isn't embellishment, but I think the ref wasn't going to put up with any antics.
A day or two late on this post, but I liked Tokarski's quietly solid play between the posts. He did give up a few rebounds, but most of them were absorbed or dropped right in front of him where he could quickly cover up the puck. He looked like Tony Stark's original Iron Man, but he did his job...
Another lackluster performance. I've seen us play far worse games than this one, but our inability to control the puck and establish a forecheck in recent weeks is very concerning. Give the Sens credit - they played a fast, defensively responsible game.
All I want for Christmas is my Carolina...
Missed this disaster of a game, while attending my niece's wedding in beautiful Beaufort, SC. Four losses in 5 games is more than a reason to say adversity has met this team. Goaltending sucks and our defensive play isn't far behind.
It's a smart business move, but I still can't help but feel sorry for Lemieux. He was a standup guy on the team and had only good things to say about the organization. That may change now, of course - but it gives him a chance to play elsewhere.
Good comments re Svech on the PP. He's not Ovi and hanging out for the sometimes (almost never) clear pass and one-timer isn't making the most of his natural abilities. Try something different.
This was an awful game to sit through in the arena. Never saw such a quiet crowd - especially after the anger about the overturned goal subsided. I was shocked to see such a poor performance from this team after two disastrous 3rd periods in the last two games. We were as bad as I've seen us...
