2018-19 Miscellaneous News Thread

FWIW ... San Jose took Game 3 in Denver and now lead the Avs 2-1. That series is TIGHT though. The poor goalies on both ends are stuck in shooting galleries and the pace is off the charts.

So that being said, if we could chose, who do you want to play against? The BJs or the Booins?
 
I think we match up better with the Bruins then CBJ.. (they're fast and Hard... ) the bruins are mostly just hard.
But with our injury situation neither one is a good match up.. :(
 
The Jackets are probably more likely to be uncomfortable with Carolina's kind of pressure, but the Bruins are easier to defend. Neither would be fun, but I for one would NOT look forward to dealing with Bruins fans.

But, beyond the obvious that we'd have home ice advantage against the Jackets, I'd be happy to not have to hear or read Jerk Edwards' take on ANYTHING in a 3rd round series.
 
It is such bad mojo to be talking about the next round. However, with the other series going on in the east, I hope it goes to 7 and that each team is soundly pummeled, bruised and battered, like a tenderizer to cheap steak.

Agreed. And worried, until I re-read my question. I never said as our next opponent. I just said as a matchup, who'd you rather play against. I know... ;) But if you're that superstitious then agree with me

Somebody please just delete these posts ... basis ... there's got to be some rule banning this improper ... trash talk ... yeah, that's it ... trash talk against those other teams. It might get back to them ... and then what?

Unacceptable ... and stupidly tone deaf with a new CBA window coming up eventually. Although, I'm not 100% convinced the owners trust Bettman with that task anymore. It wouldn't surprise me to see him phased out as lead negotiator by then, if not completely out of the job.

FWIW, Dallas took a fairly improbable 3-2 series lead over St Louis with a win last night. Lindell scored the game winner in an improbable turn from king jerk (THREE dives on one play) to hero.

To flesh this out ... Ken Holland has reportedly signed a 5 year, $25 million deal to be the GM of the Edmonton Oilers. He had stepped into a consulting role in Detroit when the Wings hired Steve Yzerman to be their GM a couple of weeks ago. I mean, it's probably better than the last idiot they had in Edmonton, but Holland is pretty far past it. He made an absolute hash of Detroit's rebuild thus far. As bad as they've been the last two seasons, they're right at the salary cap and have been this whole time. With THAT roster. It's ridiculous how many bad to mediocre players he's got signed to fat long term deals.
