March 17th the Slugs are having a road crew event here . Glad I am not going to that game.

Never mind ... they'll still be blotto by game time. Might be a good one to skip ... like most games when the Sabres play here. Buncha ruining ruiners.

I'm sure Buffalo has lots of fans who don't cause problems. It would be nice if more of them showed up at PNC in March.

The Eastern conference playoff cut line at the moment sits pretty much the same as last year with WC2 at 98 points. Canes have first 2 tiebreakers galore over just about everyone so far (RWs and ROWs). But we need to keep winning, a lot, and get to 100 points at a mimimum.

Now that Toronto and Tampa have gotten their mess together, the picture in the East is looking an awful lot like you would have thought going into the season. Pittsburgh and NYI are over-performing (injuries and general roster talent, respectively) and Philly is maybe one slot more competitive than they were given credit for. Columbus didn't slide as much as people thought they would, but there's still time. Given a hot or cold week here or there, the East is about what you would have figured. There's not a lot of room to screw around for any of the group between 60 and 50 points, with plenty of competition just waiting to pounce. The West looks like a freaking scrap yard by comparison.

Looks like Martinook will sit for Williams at least for tomorrow , maybe they setup a rotation with McGinn sitting out some games

The Athletic did their annual anonymous players' poll. The only Canes showing was Slavin who came in at #5 for best defensive defenseman. He trailed Hedman, Weber, McDonagh and Giordano. Decent company. Slavin and Aho also received votes for most underrated but did not make the top 5.
Wes McCauley was the runaway winner for best ref. St. Pierre lapped the field for worst ref. Tim Peel made the top 5 for best and worst.
