2019-20 Canes Miscellaneous News Thread

There are 3 mock drafts up on NHL.com. Adam Kimmelman has the Canes picking Jack Quinn at 13, with Askarov going to the Wild at 9. Mike Morreale and Guillaume LePage both have the Canes taking Askarov at 13 with the Wild taking center Anton Lundell at 9

There seems to be an emerging consensus that either Carolina or Minnesota will take Askarov ... which we all know means that the Sabres will take him at 8. Either way, this is an interesting draft with a really nice second layer of prospects. I'm fairly confident that Carolina will get a good one at 13.

The Canes paid the fine, with the check signed by Dundon, rather than a finance person. It was for $25,017.

RBA said that Svech had his MRI and could potentially be back of the Canes advance to the Conference or Stanley Cup finals.

If that ends up just a 4 to 6 week injury that is tremendously fortunate. I was thinking more like 2 to 6 months at best after seeing the replays.

Great to be young.
LOL...no doubt, most of us in here with our cagey veteran, battle tested bodies with the same injury would be on the shelf for a year...and milking it no less around the house with hopes the better half would be picking up the slack! ;)

Seriously, if that was my leg bending like that it would take a while to count all of the torn ligaments and broken bone fragments.

3-6 weeks sounds like the recovery time for a knee sprain or a high ankle sprain. That looked way worse than that when it happened. For there to be a chance Svech could play again in any potential rounds of these playoffs is welcomed news for sure. I was expecting his 20-21 season to be impacted.

That even sounds light for a high ankle sprain. Sometimes those take longer to heal than a broken fibula, which was the guess in my family room from the 6 non-doctors but one who broke his fibula on a similar entanglement in a beer league game.

Well, his absence is a loss. He was playing a fast, physical game and Dzingle is not really going to make up for what Svech offered. At least, it's something that doesn't require surgery and has a better prognosis than what it looked like.
