Same goes for Slavin...he certainly does not look like himself, but maybe still just "fit" enough not to be labelled "unfit to play"...

I thought Slavin was terrific last night ... right up until that weird play where Willie turned It over and they got tangled up. Not sure what you're seeing there. They're asking a TON of him.

Terrific at times but the bar is high for Slavin based on what we are use to and I have to agree with an earlier post from CMal where this has not been a strong overall playoff for Slavin under the bubble. I think he’s nursing a LBI of some type and playing through.
 
Fine ... but I think you guys sometimes set the bar awfully close to "perfect." Considering what he's been asked to do (and with multiple partners, two of whom hadn't played in months), I think the guy has played really well ... with a couple of absolutely dominating games mixed in. Against two of the best lines in the NHL, no less.
 
I thought he was fine. I also thought the wheels pretty much came off for us. 4 games in of taking a physical beating plus the lack of composure by much of the team. Playing good solid D requires being able to anticipate what your teammates are going to do. Don’t know how many panic and pass it to Slavin passes I saw last night but when you spend 30 seconds battling in your end and your winger makes a panic pass back into your zone - you shouldn’t expect that. Too many holes Not enough fingers.

I have 2 official post office stamps/pictures from 2006. Anyone else have one? Just curious, not looking to sell. I assume they do this for all championship teams, or at least they did it back then. Postmark says Stanley Cup station

I got the series of Stanley Cup pictures plus a few extras from the post office my company uses in North Durham. I saw stamps cancelled with Stanley Cup Station on them but I can't remember if I got any. I'd have to root through things and it's too late for me to get started tonight. I'm not much of a memorabilia collector, though I definitely have some stuff from the Hurricanes' Cup appearances and season ticket holder gift or two. I also have one of the Ron Francis one of 500 commemorative pucks issued after R.F. scored his 500th goal. I caught one game used puck in 2000 before the nets went up & that's in a case in my office.

Abby Labar going to work ACC FB games as sideline reporter. I think she did a few last season. BTW, she has a regular day job at a local software place.

Yeah, she did some freelance sideline work in college football last season. Couple for the ACC Network, a couple for whoever carries the AAC games and maybe a few Sunbelt games. She's pretty good at it.

CapFriendly says he was making $2.5 million in Nashville. They show Babcock was at $6.25 million. It looks like Q is the highest at $5.25 million with McLellan, Cigneault and Julien at $5 million

Good for Abby. I think she does a great job and will only get better with more experience.
 
Oh well, as long as Canes prospects develop I don't care too much where they play. It will be hard to evaluate the immediate impact for the Checkers in terms of attendance (if any) with Covid also factoring in.
