The last time we did that, it was a huge mistake. We essentially gave Jonas and BM a get of jail free card and then handed them top 5 teams. It's one thing giving brand new managers a good start, it's quite another giving two managers who made a bunch of mistakes and are familiar with player values a clean slate to cherry pick a bunch of good players to give themselves top teams while at the same time harming the new teams that came in. That was total bullshit. We should never do it again.

But I want here for all that so I'm paying for something they did?

Yup, this.

Plus the more teams involved, the worse it gets. The dispersal is designed to give 2 (or in this case, 3) new managers a chance to pick their players, rather than assigning each person a team, which may be nowhere close in terms of quality.

Actually you were. You were one of the teams that got taken behind the woodshed and whooped while selecting your teams. Blueman and Jonas just murdered you guys (and they should have). So you've already paid for it, and we've learned from the mistake. Not doing it again.

And frankly, you've only had your team for 3 years. BM and Jonas were there from season 1/2, so although it was absolutely weak for them to hit the reset button, and least they had their teams for 5+ years at that point and had really gone for it and failed. I don't think you can say the same.

They got the benefit, now nobody else can, and you don't see a problem in that?

Zero. Making the same mistake multiple times in the name of "fairness" absolutely not the way to go. All we can do is not let it happen again. The only way someone's roster ever goes in the pot again is if they leave.
 
Yeah it sucks... But just because we made that mistake before doesn't mean we should keep doing it.

I totally forgot about how much of a mistake it was last time.

For some reason it worked better in baseball. Maybe cause all the teams were pretty crappy.

Matrim and Blueman were contenders, and Killewsweet had a lot of amazing youth including Eichel/Aho.

Iceman drafting 4 goalies in the first 7 rounds opened the door to Makett and JCanham to spread the elite wealth and have very competitive teams this year.

Yeah Mindz had the best team in the league and left. I mean Tully won that year, but I believe Mindz wins if he actually cared even a little. There were a lot of good players in there, even with 6 managers taking part. Then you add new managers only taking prospects and picks for big chunks of it and BM and Jonas cleaned the fuck up.
 
Don't care enough tbh. When I mentioned it I got shot down.

People stop caring when they feel marginalized so fuck it, what's the point.
 
Someone asked if we were doing it this time, and I said I leaned towards no (for the reasons Deckie stated). I don't think anyone mentioned it after that. It's definitely too late now and also a bad idea, but I do get the frustration.
 
Yeah one more team is a bad idea. The rule should have been if you've reset before you're done. I may bail too. I'll sleep on it. Peace.
