2021 Draft Thread

- it was a stupid pick
- if you are going to make a stand on something - get rid of the french requirement
- my solution / hope was that nobody drafted him and that he did the right steps this year to prove he is a better human and then he can get drafted next year
- also the NHL should have a way to make this impossible - he took himself out and the league should have not made it possible to draft him

- i find that everybody is talking about this and not the hawks - so weird that the media covered up the hawks stuff but is all over this
- very few people seem to know what the actual crime was - i have heard everything from rape to child porn
- this will eventually blow over like it did with matthews, kane, kassian, mactavish, lafluer (for various crimes) but i will never be happy about it

30 years of child rape in the back alleys of Maple Leaf Gardens blew over even after their president Ken Dryden tried to cover up. I am sure this is nothing as egregious as that.

Top 10-15 talent at 220 pounds

He is an excellent skater , raw skills are there to be a total package on D

Time will tell , but why would Nero take him and put up with the BS if he wasn`t a great prospect

Many others maybe are a safer pick with a lower floor like Raty or Pinelli

Yeah.. Of course someone picked after will turn out better than our pick, the math just works that way. But it shouldn't work that the one or two names we propose consistently outdo the one player the Habs pick in the first round..

Remember when Trump said that he could shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue and nothing would happen to him? It's kind of like that for anything to do with the Habs. They are practically daring people to stop spending their money on this team because they know it will never happen. People lament that the organization isn't "classy" as if anyone gives a shit about that anymore. In 28 years how many Cups have the Habs won with showing "class"? I'd trade all that class for one more Cup banner.

So no, nothing is going to happen. The Habs won't lose a penny's worth of profit, and not a single season ticket subscriber nor a sponsor is jumping ship because of this. No matter what the Habs do there will never be a shortage of fans demanding that Geoff Molson take their money from them so whatever he's doing is, by definition "the right thing to do."

Where is this coming from? Not sure I've ever heard anyone accuse Ken Dryden of this. Pretty sure was hired like a month before Kruze killed himself.

I laughed on twitter at Vancouver Habs superfan, Veronica Canete who is uber pissed off at this pick. I said well when he scores in a few years, people will forget completely. She told me to fuck off and said she never cheered for Nick Cousins. So I point blank asked, so you didn't stand and cheer when he scored here in 2019. No response. Typical woke twitter bullshit.

St. Hubert is owned by Swiss Chalet out of Toronto now so their days of being an iconic Quebec brand are over. I won't be sorry to see the goofy cartoon chicken gone from the Laval Rocket jerseys. Why would anyone put a chicken on a hockey sweater? Sends the wrong message.
