2021 NHL Draft Thread

Guys, if @jeffbear is reading the Facebook comments right now, we may never see him again after we witness a flash brighter than a million suns up in North Raleigh
Never fear. I took a brief spin through that tar pit of stupidity, but only to confirm my assumptions that it would be so. World order firmly in place, I moved on. Twitter is just as bad, except there it's more about the Cult of Bean, the obvious eventual 2 time Norris Trophy winner. Which is weird because those same people also worshiped at the alter of Hayden Fleury for some unknown reason.

Traded 2nd rd #59 to LA for 3rd rd #72 & 4th rd #109

We still/now have 9 picks left:
3-72
3-91
3-94
4-109
4-123
6-187
7-200
7-209
7-219

12 picks if we make the rest of them. Going to keep me busy trying to keep track of all of these newcomers, the list was already sizable from the 12 picks we made in 2019.

For the record ... especially in this draft, I'm in favor of accumulating as many swings as possible. When everything is a roll of the dice, the more rolls you get, the better your chances of hitting on something.

Yup... that's the consensus. Once the first tier is worked over, and even to some extent within that first tier, there's as much unknown as known with this draft pool. Still, it's not random, scouts need to do their jobs, on video or however they were able to do it this year, and hopefully with more chances they hit on a couple NHL'ers

Damn, that Morrow kid already knows what to say and how to say it
I thought the same thing! Also, isn't it nice to hear others talk about our coach and the Canes track record in the affirmative? What a difference from a few years ago - and shows what making the playoffs can do to improve public perception.

We're up at #83... We were going to trade back for 96 and 131 but didn't want to miss out on that mid-3rd round goalie run!

Cool ... a goalie. 3rd rated Euro keeper sounds about right for the 3rd round. You guys know where I'm at on this position ... keep drafting them until one hits, and then keep drafting them anyway. One a year, minimum.
