Honestly, Sutter has been terrific in this stint in Calgary, so good on the Flams for locking him down. It's weird how is preferred style sort of came back in fashion, with a little bit of tweaking. Bottom line ... possession is always good, regardless of era.

Given the assertion that a lot of players knew about this, it is going to get very ugly. A lot of people need to be hiring lawyers.

Changing to a different subject, the Leafs signed Zach Aston-Reese and the Rangers signed Jimmy Vesey off their PTOs. And while the Leafs signed Aston-Reese, they’ve supposedly let the rest of the league know that Wayne Simmonds is available for essentially nothing in return. Aston-Reese was signed for about $60k less than Simmonds cap hit.

Safe to say Cole has likely played his last NHL game…I cannot imagine any team needing to add that kind of toxic baggage for a third pairing defenseman. You can issue all the statements you want through your agent but this guy is done.

I'm expecting the relationship between Cole and Abby Labar to bubble up somewhere given these sickening new accusations. Cole should be deservedly done playing NHL hockey. Given what we think we know about Cole and Labar, he is going to have a hard time convincing anyone of his innocence here. Sounds like a predator (not to fully absolve Abby who is an adult).
