2022-2023 NHL Misc. Thread

Dach to the Habs for 13 and 66. They got 13 from the Islanders in a package for Alexander Romanov.

The Blackhawks trade #38 overall to the Leafs for Mrazek and 25 overall. Straight salary dump by Dubas.

The Yotes get Zack Kassian, 29 overall, a future 2nd and future 3rd from Edmonton for #38 overall.

St. Louis trades Ville Husso to Detroit for a St. Louis' 3rd round pick in this draft.

Between Husso and Sebastian Cossa, its hard to envision Ned now as the Wing's goalie of the future.

Detroit signed Husso, 3 years/$14.25 million. Ned’s contract is up next June and Cossa still has 1 more year of juniors eligibility so they might need a stopgap backup for 2023-24 while Cossa spends a year in Grand Rapids.

Wow, that seems rich for a guy that has started 30 odd games in the NHL...

Kuemper and Campbell agents smiling from ear to ear...Kyle Dubas in the fetal position under the Leafs draft table...

So after being mortally offended at not being given the starting job here, one year later Ned finds himself firmly stuck another platoon situation in Detroit. Color me shocked.

Unless they are going to trade for someone, it almost has to be Campbell or Kuemper for the Leafs now. And they are going to have to potentially compete with the Devils and Oilers for those 2. And the Leafs also don't really have an NHL backup goalie either.

Of course the Canes went into last season's UFA period with no goalies at all and ended up just fine, so maybe the Leafs are trying to pull of the same move. Dumping Mrazek was critical to free up cap space to potentially pay Kuemper $5-6 million. I still don't quite understand how Campbell thinks he is going to get $6 million from someone. Then again, a backup goalie who played 40 NHL games last season at an above average level, after a prior season of suckage, just got $4.75 AAV....

Gotta feel like Dubas is too busy celebrating that Jedi mind trick he pulled to get rid of Mrazek's entire salary yesterday to be worried about that right now
