Toronto choked in an elimination game again and lost to Tampa 4-2. Back to Tampa for game 6 .
Ya love to see that. Could they actually lose 3 close out games in a row? What would happen?

That roster construction in Winnipeg is just not built for this. Never was. 4 out of their top 5 producing forwards either can't or won't check at all, and that's always going to be a problem. And while they have improved the defense group since that debacle season when they lost Trouba and Buff and replaced them with nothing, it's still not up to par with the other consistent playoff teams in the West. Hellebuyck is terrific, but if that guy gets so much as hangnail or a headache, they're toast. Until they get rid of Cheveldayov as GM, I don't see much changing aside from tinkering though. They badly need new front office ideas but ownership seems overly invested in keeping guys they're comfortable with around way past their sell-by dates.Vasi was the difference last night, he saved their season for Tampa.
The Bowness epic meltdown was a direct shot at Dubois and their top three or four players...something has to give.
Bowness should never be confused with Scotty Bowman but there is a lot of truth to his rant. It’s the same group of guys that chased Maurice out of town last year. And Cheveldayoff put the group together. That roster construction in Winnipeg is just not built for this.
