Charles-Alexis Legault and Quinnipiac best Wisconsin in OT and move on. They’re Big 10 killers, in the last 2 tournaments, they’ve beaten Ohio State, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

North Dakota loses to Michigan, so Blake and Perron are done. Legault is the last prospect standing.

BC beats Quinnipiac in the region final so Legault’s season is over. Goalie Jakub Vondras is the only prospect still playing in North America.

I forgot about Emerson when I said that Vondras was the onky prospect still playing in North America. The Chicago Steel have 4 regular season games left and are in the 6th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

I'm at the point now where I'm in favor of getting the AHL thing settled and getting as many of your dudes out of Russia as possible even if they're a stretch as an NHL prospect. Just for the record. If they're willing, come on the heck down ... because waiting for this thing in Ukraine to blow over seemed like a much better bet a year ago.

Trikozov turns 20 this August.

He is one of those guys who is hard to place at this moment. His KHL team clearly didn't see enough to get excited enough to keep him. His VHL (Russian Minors) numbers this season were just ok (21 points in 39 games). He destroyed Russian juniors this year (12 goals in 10 Games) He is young and bigger than a lot of our forward prospects (6'1").

If possible, Trikozov might be a good candidate for whatever our new AHL affiliate is next season. It also wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for him to find another Russian team to play with instead.

Now just got to find him a spot
It wouldn’t shock me to see the Canes affliliated with Chicago again. Their grand experiment hasn’t worked, they’re 6th in the division, 8 points out of the playoffs with 7 games left. They’re tied for 29th in the league, 1 point off the bottom.

Waddell has had a relationship with them since 2001. Maybe Dundon would but Waddell wouldn’t.
Maybe not, but IF they do link up again, we better lock in some guarantees or big penalties if Chicago goes rogue again or breaks terms. That shit can't happen again, but I don't imagine there are too many other timelines that end up with us having an AHL team next year. Finding someone to do a shared affiliation a-la Canes-Calgary in Lowell 20 years ago may be the only other.
