2023-24 Canes Misc Thread

Some PNC concession stand news to keep our eyes on. PDQ is closing almost all their stores in North and South Carolina. The remaining stores are in the Charlotte area and include a stand in Concourse E at Charlotte Douglas Airport. But if those are the only remaining stores, and all 4 in the Triangle are closing, does it make sense to stretch the supply chain to keep the stand inside PNC open?

One of the articles I saw said the PNC stand was staying open (at least for now!)

Yeah, the TBJ piece was pretty clear. The PNC stand will remain open, but you can bet your boots it's going to be a different vendor next season.

too bad... i liked to stop by the Cary PDQ location once in a while and hit the PNC stand on the rare occasion the line wasn't wrapped around 3 times on itself. Decent for fast-food chicken.

Best as I can tell from my intermission walks around the lower concourse, PDQ remains the most popular large stand at the arena. I think you can count on another chicken strips-centric stand when it eventually gets replaced.

Given they're already a sponsor, I'd be good with seeing Bo's there.... other than the line would then be wrapped around 6 times on itself and block the whole concourse.

Chick-Fil-A is also a sponsor and they have carts on the first and third levels.

Apparently the Cary location will be replaced by a Whataburger

Sorta seems like a natural fit for Raising Cane's, but what do I know?

Jim

Dave's Hot Chicken would be a hit.
Heck, Raisin' Canes would be a hit and the menu would barely change. I always wondered why we don't have them here anyway. They cover everywhere in the South that doesn't have Carolina in the name.
