It's my understanding that the Canes never considered combining the two roles in this round of hiring. From the minute Donny stepped down, it was always two hiring processes. I know that Tom Embry and Mike Forman are internal candidates for running the business side but don't sleep on Arena Authority Chair Phil Isley. He and Dundon have become really close and he's a very competent leader. That would be a huge coup in reality, even if the hockey press would yawn.
Also, note that sources are only indicating an internal hire for GM. Yorke and Tulsky are both internal, so I'm gonna wait to see who they actually name. Personally, I think either would be fine. Tulsky gets the recognition outside the franchise, but Yorke has done tremendous work here.
