Honestly, nobody should host those unless you have the first or second overall and know you've got a generational guy. Otherwise the official draft parties only breed contempt. They also can start to give fans the impression that the 20th overall pick (or whatever) is a big freaking deal every time. It CAN be, but often is not. Again, it just builds disappointment into the fan experience where it doesn't belong. This is why the Dundon/Tulsky Canes don't do draft watch parties.
Meh. This is just that kind of draft and when it comes to the longer odds guys, the more shots you take the more chance you end up hitting something. By all reports Carolina got great value out of their 2nd round selections and that's where they've done the most damage with this scouting group anyway.Day 2 is just as bad. Too many good prospects left on the table….
Too much trading down.
Schmidt happens…Jets buying out dman Nate Schmidt
Not often enough, it would seemSchmidt happens…
They sell stuff to fix that…Not often enough, it would seem
Honestly, for the right cost ... grab him. I'd vastly prefer Bean over Coghlan as a spare D.Jake Bean, who the Canes kept instead of Gustav Forsling, wasn’t qualified by Columbus. Waddell finally learned his lesson, albeit 3 years too late.
Maybe he will get to play with Stamkos.Ridiculous contract for Kane.
