2023 Draft and UFA Thread

However they might be losing Keller. I'm really hoping Hughes is trying to pull a Dach with Keller. If he can do that and keep the fifth round pick? Yes please.

And?

If Keller asks to leave AZ won't have a ton of leverage. I just don't one of he's better than Smith and Smith at least has size.

86 points forward with 5 more years on his contract at 7M? I think AZ has a lot of leverage. They're in no rush whatsoever.

Ton of leverage , plus its production on a terrible team

Maybe a 1 year outlier like other career years

Keller has no leverage. He can sit at home and not get paid if he's so unhappy. Anyway, I doubt the players care much about the arena that they're playing in. The Coyotes are improving on the ice and they'll end up somewhere decent in the next few years. Keller will survive.

Not really, 63 points in 67 games two years ago, 86 in 82 games this year. I wouldn't call it an outlier. Many players reach their potential around 23-24 years old.

AZ? Nobody care anyway, Keller holding out wouldn’t even make the news.
True but as Friedman said the other day, NHLPA is trying to build a case of death by 1000 paper cuts against Yotes & NHL.

- travel conditions / accommodations not per CBA
- poor playing facilities etc

Nobody there would care.

It applies pressure on Bettman. There's only so much they can do and every problem that makes the hockey circle is another cut to Bettman. Getting close to 1000 by now no?

There's a rumor going around (apparently Stu Cowan on TSN690) that Michkov’s close to signing a 2 year extension deal with SKA so instead of 3 years from now it would be 5.

All I can find is Cowan speculating on Marinaro’s podcast:
