Smith is not a guaranteed 1st liner either. The “top 4” from before probably are, including Carlsson.

Brady has already exceeded expectations and has below average skating

He was never a stud but the surest top 5 pick in the last decade

I don't care about jumping to three if Michkov is taken. I don't think they will and it's not because of Jaarmo, it's because of Davidson.

Oh for Carlsson. Yeah I think that's Davidson's guy. He's far more conservative than Jaarmo and is his boss so I think they're going Carlsson.

He won't be. I misread. I though LCS wanted to move up for Michkov. I think he's not going top 3

Something is very wrong if Mitchkov is available at 5 and we don't draft him (considering the first 4 pick go as predicted). I think Hughes's only reason to pass on Mitchkov is if a big suprised happens in the top 4 and someone is available at 5 that they didn't expect.

Yeah. Under “normal circumstances” I see him at #4 given the contract situation. If it weren’t for that, he’d go before Carlsson and maybe even Fantilli, I think.

Either way, we’re stuck with an awkward #5 pick that might be best to move, up (unlikely) or down.
