2023 Draft and UFA Thread

My assumption, based on current info, is that Michkov is selected in the 4-8 range. I doubt he gets past Washington if it comes to that.
I think there's a deal to be made with Washington. Rake them for #5. They're aging and would likely pay more than others.

I could get on board with this if it's the Big Austrian. We need to beef up the blue line if we're going to be playing small D like Hutson in the future.
No one "in the know" seems to think that he'll be a top pairing d-man in the NHL.

Looking for a second pairing minute eater for when we're up in games. They don't all have to be scorers, need a horse to spell Xhekaj.

I'm not using a high/very high first round pick on that.
9 or 17 is very high? I wouldn't even drop that low from 5.

At 6 & 12 I would go Leonard and Musty. You're done beefing it up upfront and can trade Anderson for other needs.

I have doubts about Detroit moving 9 and 17 for 5 (plus a 4th rounder?), though maybe it’s possible. We’d have to sweeten pot considerably to get 6 and 12.

9 is too high for that. There will be better players available than him at 9.

If Dvorsky, or even Sale, are still there at 9, I'd take either of them before any of the d-men mentioned.
I'm not passing on Smith for any of those guys. Doesn't make sense. Who cares if we're getting deeper at center. That's what you want.

We cry for more offensive forwards then decide on the safer pick at 11:59?

Sack up gentlemen, if that's what I anticipate the return will be I'm just taking Smith.
