2023 Draft and UFA Thread

Boisvert said that if Michkov is available Hughes should run, not walk, to the podium and select him. He is apparently the closest thing to Bedard in this draft besides Bedard himself. In most other years he'd be a cinch to go first overall. He had Michkov ranked ahead of Fantilli and just a tick below Bedard.
So he said what everyone here has said for weeks?

Also, I think Hughes knows all this and is playing it cool. Michkov? Oh yeah we'll see what happens, it's about the right fit.

You were pumping Michkov's tires before anyone else and you never budged.
I'm not afraid of Russians. I was born in Europe, been there many many times and don't have any boogeyman thoughts about them. I looked at the talent. If you'd asked any of HP, GGpX, CH1, Krusty etc they'd have told you Michkov was 1B in talent.

The fact that his father MAY have been killed because he allegedly wants to leave his KHL team now is beyond insane, if true, Like truly insane.

Yeah. I never thought it was because he wanted to leave, but rather that they refused to be extorted. But, given the circumstances, that might amount to the same thing. Maybe. Some Russian gangsters have global reach, others don’t. It’s the latter group that would be potentially dangerous if they feel their options are limited.

The thing to remember, however, is that Michkov's KHL club will be able to offer him a shit ton more money than the Habs or any other NHL team because whether he shows up in 2024 or 2034, he will have to accept the rookie minimum for 3 years.

I would like to know what Keith Jones’ vision to execute his mandate given by Comcast is

I’m willing to wager it isn’t a rebuild …. does that make their 1st rounder available?

Anderson, Anderson …
