He said they had only come to an agreement the day before. Of course, anything he says about the Canes and Wolves should be taken with an entire mine of salt…what? they're practicing at the rink that the Wolves already had paid for and had usage rights for?
Polar's word crazy that happened that way.
That Androckitis guy really is a dipshit, isn't he?what? they're practicing at the rink that the Wolves already had paid for and had usage rights for?
Polar's word crazy that happened that way.
I mean, the Wolves had already paid for it. What were they gonna do, tell the Canes to pound sand? This is a dumb controversy to have for 2 multi-billionaire owners, but it was never not going to get resolved. He said they had only come to an agreement the day before. Of course, anything he says about the Canes and Wolves should be taken with an entire mine of salt…
Maybe if he would have acted sooner, but they were sold to Zawyer Sports & Entertainment in July. The Checkers are the only AHL franchise they own but they own the ECHL Jacksonville Icemen and their rink, the Savannah Ghost Pirates and the Atlantic League Gastonia Baseball Club. They consult for the ECHL Tahoe Knight Monsters and Ghost Pirates Ice. I doubt they’re interested in selling. The sooner Dundon bows to the inevitable and just buys out the dingdongs who own the Checkers, the better.
I believe the pecking order for goalies expected to hit the waiver wire starts with Alex Lyon in Detroit, James Reimer perhaps in Buffalo, Matt Murray in Toronto and Chris Drieger in Florida...I guess Martin would likely fit somewhere in that same group as well. What teams right now are looking for help? Maybe the Bruins if Swayman continues to holdout but I think Boston claimed a goalie this week off waivers already...perhaps Vancouver needs one if Demko and Silovs are still dinged up.Sounds like the first wave of cuts is coming tomorrow. Spencer Martin was put on waivers today, with the hope of him sliding through so he can go to Chicago. Perets and Khazheyev are both waivers exempt.
Martin cleared waivers.I would think any team that needs an NHL backup goalie would be all over Alex Lyon first. The Bruins might need another goalie for a while, so there is one team in the market.
I expect Spencer Martin will clear waivers.
Good. Again, perfectly decent third option ... provided he gets his confidence back a little bit.Martin cleared waivers.
All I've seen is clips, but the kid has a great sense of where the openings are around the net.For those with access to The Athletic, Scott Wheeler mentions our draft pick Nikita Artamonov among prospects "turning heads" so far this season...
Which NHL prospects have stood out early in the 2024-25 season?
Here are the players who've impressed early on in 2024-25, from 2025, 2026 and 2027 draft-eligibles to drafted NHL prospects.www.nytimes.com
Atramonov is only 19 and is on a KHL contract with Torpedo that runs through next season.
