2024-25 NHL Misc. Thread

In case you're stumped as to why NYI would even contemplate this move, they've been playing somebody named Isaiah George in their D. Basically DeAngelo would be a replacement for Mike Reilly, who also sucks ... and is hurt. It probably doesn't actually make them worse and the guy CAN run a power play.

After one period in Beantown, Marty Nachos leads all Av’s forwards in ice time with a shade under 7 minutes!!!

Reminding again that the only thing I don't like about YouTubeTV is its lack of NHL Network.
Ya, NHL Network games are about the only ones I can't watch, between FanDuel, TNT, and ESPN+ ... Am listening on SiriusXM Ch#926 tho... Nachos was really all over the place in the 1st... good start for him.

There has to be a better solution…I like to follow the Leafs along with the Canes from my Canadian roots…I’ve already been blacked out 8/9 games this year thanks to the NHL Network hijacking games off ESPN +. YouTube TV for me too.

Didn't go so well for the Avs (or Necas) in the 3rd... a 1-0 lead turned into a 3-1 loss to the B's (thanks to a pair from another ex-Cane Morgan Geekie)

Necas finished with 2 shots, a dash 3 (El Gordo plus-minus police alert) and the most TOI for any Avs forward (25:08). Drury -1 and 36% in the circle in 15:04

That will have the impatient Av’s fans even more on the ledge with the big trade…😀

New day, new game ... Drury opened Colorado's scoring with a goal and Necas ended up with 2 assists as the Avs beat NYR 5-4.

Blues are putting Brandon Saad on waivers. He has 1 year left at $4.5 million AAV, $3.625 million actual. He had 69 goals in his first 3 seasons with the Bkues but has only 7 goals, 9 assists in 43 games this year.

Yeah. St Louis is toast. They're 5 points out of 8th, but everybody in front of them has games in hand. The chances of making that up are slim and they've already made their long term coaching move, so they may as well cut bait and start working on the roster. Saad hasn't earned his check for years now, and you could argue that he never really did during his stint in St Louis. If they can find a taker now, cool. If not, then maybe burying him in the minors and giving a look-see to a younger guy is a better play. Plus, they barely have any draft picks this year, so they need to start piling up some draft stock as well.
