He's a hard player to peg in some ways. He's the guy I wanted us to take. But, since the draft, things have not gotten any less controversial for Michkov. There is no denying his numbers in the KHL relative to other past Russians...but he's also been in and out of the lineup with many mysterious issues (not physical injuries), and there is still scuttlebutt that he's not coachable. A rogue player, per se. But no denying the talent. I watched/watch a lot of him, and he's got generational IQ and a phenomenal array of shots. Having said all that, Reinbacher IMO looked NHL-ready last pre-season vs some largely NHL lineups.he will be a flop
I can't imagine that Lindstrom will last until 10 . . . but if he does, he'll be ours. Sorry, LesCanadiens.Sportsnet's 2024 NHL Draft Prospect Rankings: March Edition

Only concern is lack of sample size?I can't imagine that Lindstrom will last until 10 . . . but if he does, he'll be ours. Sorry, LesCanadiens.
They won’t trade down. NFL teams do that, not NHL teams. They’ll likely just draft Iginla or Eiserman at that point. The doomsday scenario for us would be if we're picking seventh, and three or four of the top six picks are forwards (Celebrini, Demidov, Lindstrom, Catton) and Levshunov & Parekh are taken.
At that point, I'd just take Eiserman and hope he'll get his ass in gear with other things than just goal scoring. Short of that, desperately try to trade down 4-5 spots and see if I can get a mid 2nd round pick out of it.
Why is Inginla a reach at 7-10?If they can't trade down, and for some reason they don't want Eiserman, which would be foolish, but maybe Billy-Dumbfuck-From-Bawstun doesn't think he's a winner and thinks we shouldn't take him. I'd "settle" for Dickinson before reaching for other forwards. That would also mean I'd be trading Guhle for an NHL winger around his age simultaneously as well.
Not sure what top line forward you could get for Guhle other than maybe Zegras, if that. I would just draft the “best” forward left, other than Helenius. Most have him going around 12-18 and if it's between Iginla or Dickinson at 7/8? I'll take Dickinson. Dickinson's a hell of a player, I just wish he was a RHD instead.
I'd take iginla in that range. Sure he isn't putting up Catton point totals but he is 6 months younger. Why is Inginla a reach at 7-10?
I would swallow hard and do it... but not if Dickinson's still there.I'd take iginla in that range. Sure he isn't putting up Catton point totals but he is 6 months younger.
Alternatively:No idea whether it'd be feasible or not, but... A trade of Guhle+ for Necas.
Iginla’s game might end up translating better in the NHL than Catton’s.I'd take iginla in that range. Sure he isn't putting up Catton point totals but he is 6 months younger.
Dickinson is way better than GuhleIf they can't trade down, and for some reason they don't want Eiserman, which would be foolish, but maybe Billy-Dumbfuck-From-Bawstun doesn't think he's a winner and thinks we shouldn't take him. I'd "settle" for Dickinson before reaching for other forwards. That would also mean I'd be trading Guhle for an NHL winger around his age simultaneously as well.
Reinbacher and Mariloux are our RHD , Dickinson would slot on the top pairMost have him going around 12-18 and if it's between Iginla or Dickinson at 7/8? I'll take Dickinson. Dickinson's a hell of a player, I just wish he was a RHD instead.
