2024 NHL Playoffs Thread

He didnt cost them the game , no chance
He didn't do much to help them win. Looked shakey, beaten on the short side for goal 2-a save he had to make in that game. Last night you could just tell Swayman was sharp, better than Ulmark. Given Ulmark's playoff performance last year, his so-so performance in his only start this year, Swayman's performance in games 1 and 3, Ulmark should not see the net again till things change. The Bruins cannot risk it.

You can't be so slavishly devoted to this one on, one off goalie rotation that you toss common sense out the window. Swayman simply doesn't lose to the Leafs. Like ever. So I'd keep putting him out there unless or until they beat him before rotating back to Ullmark. Now maybe in the second round, the Bruins will face a team that Swayman has more trouble with than Ullmark and you can switch accordingly then. But right now, Swayman is in the Leafs' heads. They see him take the crease and they know they're not winning. Seeing Ullmark gives them a glimmer of hope.

The Bruins must do everything possible to crush that hope and send a message to the Leafs that their defeat is an inevitability, not merely a possibility.

you probably would have supported sending the greatest General of all time to St Helena to teach the french a lesson

Stamkos-watch is 1-Fla win away…
My brother in Toronto works with Stamkos' aunt and he's had conversations with her about her nephew.

According to his aunt, Steven LOVES Tampa Bay. The city, the team, the front office. Everything. He has zero interest in playing elsewhere. So don't be surprised if he takes a hometown discount to stay right where he is.

A couple of $100K take home less to stay in TBay? Sure, he’d do that

No professional athlete ever leaves significant $ on the table…. Will not happen in this day & age.

If Habs offer $12M ($11M) in bonus, TBay has to offer a $13M AAV contract to even come close to matching take home.

Stamkos is presently at $8.5M and NHLPA will make damn sure he gets a minimum raise of at lease 25% ($11M range), which TBay can’t afford cap wise

Let’s see if nobility holds when my cousin Vinny in his flip flops & MSL come knocking w a blank chèque, or when ego takes a hit because Brisebois lowballs him…

BTW - none of Stamkos, Kucherov, Hedman, Vasilevsky, Point have taken a “hometown discount” to date…
