2024 NHL Playoffs Thread

They didn't test him already? You'd think that the second a hockey player has a headache for more than a few hours, they get them tested immediately.

Another Vegas/Florida final? Both are looming large in the early going of the playoffs.

I picked a bunch of Tampa/Dallas players, among others, in a pool which has 31 people in it. I'm dead last at this point. A 12 year old son of my buddy is leading the pack.....which is why I don't gamble outside of this one yearly event.

Dolphins are cuter than Bears…

Other than Swayman, Anderson and Bobvrosky, can any goalie stop a puck in these playoffs? Seems like a lot of weak play in the nets. Maybe the Rangers and Vegas guys are doing ok, I have not seen them play much.

A couple of $100K take home less to stay in TBay? Sure, he’d do that

No professional athlete ever leaves significant $ on the table…. Will not happen in this day & age.

If Habs offer $12M ($11M) in bonus, TBay has to offer a $13M AAV contract to even come close to matching take home.

Stamkos is presently at $8.5M and NHLPA will make damn sure he gets a minimum raise of at lease 25% ($11M range), which TBay can’t afford cap wise

Let’s see if nobility holds when my cousin Vinny in his flip flops & MSL come knocking w a blank chèque, or when ego takes a hit because Brisebois lowballs him…

BTW - none of Stamkos, Kucherov, Hedman, Vasilevsky, Point have taken a “hometown discount” to date…
The Habs would be insane to pay Stamkos, or anyone else that old, that much money.

Are you surprised? I'm not. I think Patrick has a sharp hockey mind but Brindy is one of the best coaches in the NHL, Roy is not.
I’m not surprised it has unfolded this way, but I’m very surprised how slow to react St Patrick has been with in game adjustments, for somehow everyone calls a “brilliant hockey mind & great coach”

Isles had no chance of winning even with prime Roy in net and prime Bowman behind the bench
