2024 NHL Playoffs Thread

What’s been lost with all the noise, Make Beliefs went 1-for-21 on the PP.

Wasn’t Guy Boucher supposed to be a special teams strategy genius?

I don’t quite understand the Leafs fans, it’s like they don’t understand that the playoffs is a different game and you can’t win playing a skill game. They were unhappy when down 3-1 but also unhappy when they finally simplified their game and give them a chance to win. You have to play those types of games to win, you’re never going to win by playing pretty and turning pucks over to the Bruins. But it’s cute seeing them frustrated thinking that I might work one day.
The evolution of the Leafs in my lifetime is quite remarkable. In the 1960s, I watched Leaf teams win multiple Stanley Cups by choking the life out of more talented teams like Chicago and Montreal. They were the ultimate playoff team. Then, after the first expansion wave, they changed completely, going all fancy. Tried to skate and dangle their way to success. They've pretty much played that way since. The results are evident.

I don't think the Leaf fans who have fallen in love with "playing pretty" even understand (and certainly have never seen) the earlier successful history of the franchise.

I've seen the NBA do it, but I can't recall the NHL doing it.

Not that I mind, honestly. It just depends on when the arenas are available, especially places like MSG.

NBA does it all the time.

Unfortunately Vegas has tied the game.
