2024 NHL Playoffs Thread

I was only 4/8 because I was trying to be too cute with trying to predict who would pull the inevitable upsets. Which never came this year. Got Dallas,Edmonton, Boston, Rangers last round.

Will go Dallas> Colorado in 7
Edmonton>Vanc in 5
Florida>Boston in 5
New York>Carolina in 5

McDavid is the only great player I’ve seen in my lifetime who does absolutely no whining on or off the ice. Gretzky & Lemieux whined let alone Crosby in his early years.

Count likes to call him Mc No Personality but the dude simply delivers, even w all the roadblocks his own org threw at him …. all the time, regular season / playoffs doesn’t matter.

well he has never played in a final so before he is annointed, he has to do at least that, and he has no personality, hell he makes Swedes look effusive

Friedman said he’s been told Leafs are considering buying out last year of Tavares’ contract

I’m not sure why they’d do it since they’re not gaining much AAV, but what do I know

If they're buying him out, it's because he's refusing to waive his NMC.

And even then, they only save $700k next year. Tavares might be on the downside of his career, but he's not a bum.
 
Yeah. Sounds like a negotiation tactic. They don’t benefit much from a buy out. I don’t think they would even save the cap hit of the league minimum salary.
