IMO they should bring in Eyssimont as a cheap 4th liner. He is fast and gets lots of shots.

We should make room for Robertson at $1.5m. I wouldn’t be even slightly disappointed by trading away Domi for something to open the spot.

As some GM's have noted, it seems like almost every team is trying to be good. Huge lack of sellers with the rising cap. So mostly any trade would have to be current value for current value, which for some reason is rare in the NHL. Really shouldn't be that way, should be a lot of potential win-win trades out there.

Given how much his contract extension changed everything, it’s easily forgotten how much Mitch had the entire fanbase wrapped around his pinky….Matthews and Nylander were loved, but Mitch was the hometown kid who felt like everyone’s little brother.
Had he accepted a Nylander type extension, been a lifelong Leaf, his post-career earnings would dwarf any money left on the table in that RFA deal.
Insisting on that extra $900,001 a year to take his AAV into double digits, especially fucked him in terms of his public perception, and he never recovered from it.
