Given that league-wide the NHL average save percentage has dipped below 90%, the numbers for Primeau and Miftakohv look promising so far.
My go-to stat on goalies is Goals Saved Above Expected Per 60 and I've yet to find--although, I admit to not trying very hard--a source for those numbers for the AHL.
After a bad camp and rough start in Chicago, Miftakhov seems to have righted the ship. His GAA is 10th among goalies still in the league (Thomas Milic is with Winnipeg). His save % is in the top 20 among the 47 goalies that have played at least 360 minutes.
Actually pretty encouraging. I think those guys in Chicago are pretty much hitting their mark with anything above .900 since that D has born the brunt of the NHL team's injuries on the back end. Legault being out long term is a big blow for them, as has been the loss of Nystrom to the big club. That's two all situations guys that they've had to replace with just whatever was at hand.
Best one timer in the organization. The big club REALLY needs to figure out how to utilize that kid

Yea. He’s too good to stunt his development calling him up to bury him on the fourth line…. Even though Carolina’s fourth line isn’t your typical shit player 4th line. Maybe they make a move by trading away a 3rd or 2nd liner to get that goalie we need allowing Nadeau to come up and play. I don’t know the answer but I think he’s ready for prime time
Whatever they do, they need to fish or cut bait on him next season. And with the Canes' consistently putrid power play that lacks big shots, the hole for him to fill is obvious. And none of this Brind'Amour having to get there incrementally stuff either. You know the kid's got the shot. USE it.
