2025 NHL Trade Deadline

Yup.

When I watched him play in Halifax, I never thought in a thousand years Marchand would become even a decent NHLer, let alone a player who might sniff the HHOF one day. hairnova & others from the region who watched the Mooseheads can attest to this, Marchand was a legendary douchebag. Brad Marchand is who Zachary L'Heureux wishes he could be one day.
That's a good assessment of Marchand as a junior. There was no reason to think he would be any more than a possible fourth line disturber, at best. A good junior, who would most certainly not replicate that success at the NHL level. His talent level seemed marginal.

Lets see how the team does after the break, they have 5-6 games before March 7th. This team has hit a wall. Tough schedule they have been on. LH is not the same player of a few weeks ago, Suzuki is missing chances, the passing is off etc..

A lot harder to maintain a higher level of play in January/February when your team is bereft of talent.

Which is entirely normal.

Still no #1 center, d-man or goalie on the current roster. It's far from being done.

All teams had a tough schedule. We need more depth.

Offers may come in sooner than March 7, though I suppose there can be a bidding war. I also expect Dvorak and Armia to go.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Matheson moved in the summer.

True, and that will come. we are the 2nd youngest team in the league ; at this point in time, none of top 5 youngest teams are in the playoffs, Columbus is close (we are younger by an average of 2 years)..

Agreed. This just exposed the lack of secondary scoring. The finish on the team is horrible. When they were winning for a month the Evans line was producing like a second line, not a third or fourth. We lose Heineman and that went to pot and that tells me the rookie is pretty good at opening space. He plays like a power forward which this team desperately needs.

Passing on Brady Tkachuk really hurt the rebuild. Even Q. Hughes would have put us ahead.

This team is first round fodder anyway and we really do need to sink to bottom 5. After the first 7 this year it's really a pot luck of meh.

I don't care how they do after the break. It's irrelevant. They are washed for this season. It's time to sell. Waiting just lowers the value.

If Evans isn’t close then be-bye.
Hugo is as thorough as you can get

Former agent who crunches every metric to determine a value

He probably wants 4-4.5 and its not too hard to replace him way cheaper

As mentioned teams have very little control over star salaries but total control over secondary players

These are the fuck ups that kill your cap , like the 20 mil Habs have tied up on the bottom 6

Hasnt been a problem cause we are shit and not capped strapped like other teams

Team is just unwinding them , dont add another one
