Problem is Barrie is UFA in a year as is Muzin.
Kadri is locked up for another 3 years at a very nice AAV of 4.5
Colorado got a good center here to play behind Mckinnon

Kadri will be their #3, behind McKinnon & Landeskog.
This is a definite win for Toronto in the short term for this upcoming season, but after this? They better hope they win.
You guys have enough production from your top end guys, Nylander will be more productive also.
I really feel that kadri style of play will be missed in your lineup....its not the same when Kadri is out of the lineup for you guys.

If you need D as much as we did, can get a top pairing guy and still have Matthews, Tavares, Kerfoot and Spezza down the middle, to me that's a no brainer.
I like this for Colorado...I hated Kadri so much but that says everything there is to say about the kind of player he is.
I would love to have this guy on our team

In fairness they had the same stats last season. They do play different styles though

Last season he was, but with Soderberg & Kerfoot gone, I assumed he was going back to center. Or am I imagining things?

It’s not a terrible deal. I actually like Kerfoot and he was the throw in.

Maybe not. If they keep it together, Kadri's their #2. A little bit of an underwhelming #2, but not bad considering his caphit.
After the summer Leafs are back to cap mess again
Muzzin and these 2 are UFA`s and you have to ink Freddie as well
They cant make it work , conservatively you need about 13-14 mil to keep them
Kadri had to go for controllable assets not another pending UFA

Oh brother.
Our cap situation is tight but we pretty much have zero terrible contracts after getting rid of Marleau and Zaitsev. Teams with good players will have to make difficult decisions every year.

Leafs have cap space to sign both long term next year.
There isnt a hope in hell your retaining these 3 next summer if they play well . Ceci is a UFA as well .
Freddie is going to command around 8 as he cant be a lame duck goalie heading into last year , numbers dont work .

He kind of doesn't have to. The idea is that because we have Matthews and JT, we should be playing lines 3&4 less. Matthews specifically has been crankly two seasons in a row about not getting enough ice. So Kerfoot doesn't need to replace what Kadri is capable of, just what he was doing.
With that said, they had identical 5 on 5 P/60 last year.
