Around the League: 2019-2020 Regular Season

Training like a madman was (could still be) part of his brand. But yeah, maybe he’s lost some of his fire.

This reeks of a men are pigs project to me. Just ridiculous. Hockey coaches, parents etc.. have been pretty nuts, for decades.

Suddenly, all at once? A Salem witchhunt?

You know the funny thing?

The real funny thing? Is that Don Cherry will not fall into question into this particular area. The guy was as soft as butter with guys feelings and it was always one on one.

Mark Crawford and Montgomery being called into question. Surprising I suppose. To me anyways

But the great BRUTE Don Cherry will not be brought into this discussion, he was Sheldon Keefe like, back decades ago. Its why I like him and he liked me. And no I am not a cop or a fireman or a military man.

If your going to attack coaches for misconduct , need to start having the same for players with punishment

They have them for on ice hits and shit but what about douchebag behaviour

Matthews`s incident in the summer wasn't a big deal but it was a bad look and press for MLSE

Evander and Patrick Kane and others caused shit .

I am sure others came to practice hammered or unwilling to work

I don't condone racism or physical abuse but lack of professionalism should be punished in some capacity

so Chuckie has already worn out the welcome mat in Pittsburgh

“The fact of the matter is, when we’re totally healthy, he’s going to have to work very hard just to get in the top 12,” Rutherford told Josh Yohe. “That’s just the way it is, because we have a lot of guys playing well. So, that’s the good news and the bad news.”

Let hope the same thing doesn't happen to our next round of prospects.

Ron Hainsey to play game # 1,100 in Montreal.

I guess we can officially remove him from the bad pick list, where I've sort of placed him over the years. It took a few years to fully evaluate his career, but not a bad first round selection it turns out. Not a great player by no means, the type destined to move around the league to fill a spot here or there and work fairly cheap. But that is an admirable accomplishment, 1,100 games.

I have not perused the list of players from the year he was drafted, but he must be quite high among the leaders in games played. Of course, he was exiled from Montreal as he didn't play well "without the puck" I suppose, or wore his cap wrong..

Had he been a Timmins pick, he would be among the best ones.

Yeah ... it's easy to look at a 13th overall pick and expect something more than Hainsey has ever offered, but the dude has played solid NHL hockey for a long freaking time. That's worst some respect. Plus, the first round pool in his draft year sort of sucked. Nik Kronwall, Justin Williams and Brooks Orpik were the only other career impact guys taken after Hainsey.

He wasn't exiled, he developed slowly and lacked maturity in his younger years, and then we sloppily lost him on waivers because of the damn awful re-entry waivers rule when we were injury ravaged on defense.
