That "Aging Player" has had his best statistical seasons since turning 30 and hasn't missed a game in 10 years. He's aging better than almost anyone in the NHL. Maybe the idea he's so out of shape is a myth?

The idea that he avoids contact like the plague is not however.

Chayka on Galchenyuk “ he’s still trying to find a way to be a consistent player”

Yes, I think so to. That system will suit him well. He'll score there. We destroy scorers.Good deal for Penguins.

He’ll get his fair share of points playing along side Malkin for sure.

Doesn’t change the fact we overwhelmingly won that trade

He will do good in Pitts I think

(Edit-reposted as I forgot to quote HabsFan first time I posted , so post now showing after Don Kay's quote of this same post)

Yup - destroyed Domi, and Gallagher.

The Belarusian “production line” awaits in the KHL.

SKos-Galchenyuk-AKos

Combined IQ of a turnip.

Who are you still trying to convince? Even the people who hated the trade the most (yours truly) have fully admitted how wrong they were numerous times. It was pretty clear by about mid October that we killed it in that deal.

Journal de Montréal writes this morning that Mike Sullivan blamed Phil Kessel for Evgeny Malkin’s regression on defense in the last 2 years. That Phil the Trill had a bad influence on Geno.

They also wrote that Sullivan was not a fan of Kessel hanging at Pittsburgh’s Casino on nights before games, and he was worry it would influence other players, particularly Jake Guentzel.

Phill Kessel got 82 pts in 82 games last year.

Well I’m sure in a year or two if Galchenyuk puts up a 70 point season along side one of the most dynamic forwards in the league some will question it.

Arizona did well in this deal...they don’t want Galcheyuk as part of their re-tool/re-build anyway so the age difference doesn’t matter since no team was going to give a talented 25 year old for Galchenyuk

Sure, if Galchenyuk puts up 70 and Domi reverts to a 9g 40p guy we will have to re-evaluate... but right now it looks like a landslide win for us.

Haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere, Kessel & Tocchet have a very good relationship - IMO it’s nowhere near the steal people are making it out to be for Pens w a motivated Kessel out to prove people wrong while playing for a coach he wants to play for

Seems like a good all around deal for both teams.

Yotes great the better player. Kessel is a very good player and will improve them. Pens get a solid (even if he's not lived up to expectations) player plus a good prospect... and they get some cap relief that they need.

I think it’s a win for Arizona

Kessel just had an 80 pont season and they have to start making the playoffs this year, he will help that alot more than Galchenyuk who finished with 4 points in his last 20 games

Phil will produce on any team and any line

One of the best producers over the last decade

Yes. Agree with this completely. It doesn't appear as any kind of steal either way.I just don't think one should play down a potential benefit to Pittsburgh.
