You guys are spinning this outside of the intent of my using that term.

I think we need a fifth elite forward. It has nothing to do with D.

If you want to have a combined "Core ___", I'd add Rielly, Sandin, and Lilly into it, since I like them all so much, and would say we have a Core 7 as we speak.

But all I'm talking about is the elite forward cadre, which needs to be expanded by one.

I think an elite offensive d-man would be better (for you guys anyway)…. Would create even more space for your way above average forward core

I feel like someone like that would be next to impossible to acquire, at least one who can also play good D and not be a liability. So I've counted it out as a realistic possibility.

But to find another really good forward is doable, even just simply because there are so many more of them around to get.

Also, I'm a big believer of both Sandin and Lilly. Especially Lilly. I think that guy can be incredible at both ends of the ice, in particular playing a heavy, solid game in our own zone. So, I just don't see the need for D, and because of the fact that it seemed one of Sandin or Lilly would have to be out if Muzzin stayed, he seemed like a redundant asset while at the same time being a crazy bad risk to keep on the roster.

Normally, I'd be much more annoyed at how it all played out exactly as I thought it would and could've been easily avoided, but like I said yesterday, I'm honestly tiring of the antics of these Toronto teams. To have an elite roster that shits itself every first round, and then comes out of the gate losing to teams who built their rosters intending to lose! I mean, sheesh, enough already, so this Muzz thing is just another one to add to the list.

They’ve won every game that they got better than .830 goaltending. It’s pretty obvious what this team needs.

you have to be able to win some games when you play like shit or Matthews doesn’t score.

I don't recall that in the last couple of years of elimination games.

Giving up 2 goals in each of the last two Game 7's is not a goalie problem.

They have all different goalies now.
It was never an issue anyway.

If Samsonov lets up 2 goals in Game 7, our four PPGish players and Rocket winner need to get 3. Maybe not every year, but at some point they have to win those 1 goal elimination games with offense from their multiple elite forwards. They keep falling short, so my answer is to get one more. Focusing on literally anything else is pure blinders shit.
