Lou is another good example...As soon as the realities of the salary cap set in, Lou's first big move was the cheat (Kovalchuk) and when that more or less didn't work (they had one last gasp weirdo run to the cup finals in an otherwise bad era of Devils hockey), he got politely shown the door here. Got fortunate as fuck with draft luck and lottery balls and still managed to fuck our cap situation with bad deals on shit players before we showed him the door. Went to NYI and is doing it again.

Of course, fuck the Leafs for throwing away so many points against bad teams.
The 6pts in 7gms (70pt pace) against the clear-cut worst 7 teams in the league is particularly galling.
