Rumours that the Sens will trade Chychrun. If so he's likely the best dman moved this season.

He's one of the best 5v5 offensive dmen in the league, and while his raw totals stink he has only played on really shitty teams and his relative numbers are elite. And he's played pretty tough minutes.

They might not, but they also traded Debrincat to Detroit so who knows.

Ottawa traded a 1st and two 2nds for him (the 1st is obviously gonna be superior to Leafs 1st). So if they're really looking to trade him already then Minten, a 1st and maybe a 2nd is the equivalent? Toss in a Steeves or even Holmberg if you want too?
Though they may want a young d like Niemela involved. They have the pieces I think. They should probably go balls deep on this one. He's on a phenomenal contract too that they'd get for 2 playoff runs.

Hanifin still the other option. He’s finally getting tough usage and putting up similar underlying numbers to Chychrun. The offense isn’t the same though.

Hanifin will be cheaper to acquire but cost more $$ to keep him. Decent option if they can make it it in their cap hell structure, but it sure feels like Chyrchrun at sub 5m for the next 2 playoff runs is the sweet spot.
