How about trade Kampf and Krok and Reaves and create that $25M of room.

Then try to spend that first.

Then see if there's anything else out there worth acquiring.

because 25M isnt nearly enough to fill the holes you have
dealing those bums creates more holes and good luck not taking salary back
tavares at 11M is a bottom 5 value deal in the NHL and clearing that money will help acquire 1.5 of the 3 new D you need

No he's aware of that. I just think he's confusing 25m of space on 3 empty roster spots with 25m of space on 10+ empty roster spots. There is a huge distinction.

Yet he doesn't factor in their salaries. He just subtracts Reaves' salary and assumes he'll be replaced by someone making $0. And they'll have $25m to spend on 2 or 3 studs.

But even if they do, you still have to subtract that from the $25m in space that is being referenced! If you dump Reaves you only save 575k this year if he's replaced by a league min player! Not the entire 1.35!
