Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Of course they'd want to dump Trouba's contract any way they could. He stinks.

Zibanejad should be the next guy to move. He's paid a ton to be a pp specialist.

As for how good they are - they got off to red hot 5-0-1 start and have been .500 since, and worse by the eye test. Would be smart to get rid of some of their bad contracts while they still have some "winner" smell left on them.
and they have historically (or at least during Shesty's run) piggybacked on his awesomeness and shitty underlying numbers to perhaps overperform.

Rangers have 3 super elites in panarin fox and shesty.

The rest of the roster is just ok with no real standouts. Makes sense to try to move some of the older expensive "other" pieces if they can get some value for them.

I wouldn't think Kreider would be top of the list to go. He's not cheap but not crazy expensive and he's a pretty good player still.

to be fair, someone almost always does take these physical name dmen. chicago took jones and paid for him. apparently Yzerman wanted trouba, and there's no way he's the only one.

the value is there but i've never really had a good grip on what he is. He definitely looked really good last year but i'm still suspicious that he's purely a complementary type guy. A good one, and worth his contract, but i have a feeling he'd get pretty frustrating to depend on.

2yrs

Tavares: 100gms, 5v5 13:43 (-2.1dzs%), 56.2xgf% (+4.0), 1.79ap/60 (8.72oish%) ---- 5v4 3:01, 3.85ap/60
Trocheck: 101gms, 5v5 15:11 (-3.3dzs%), 51.8xgf% (+1.5), 1.57ap/60 (9.57oish%) --- 5v4 3:13, 4.53ap/60

kind of an irrelevant comp but i was just interested to take a look. obviously trocheck would be a nice fit but man it's nice that Tavares has really turned himself back into a strong 2-way C again over the last couple years when everyone was saying he had to be moved to the wing.

he could yet become a hero in this city if he signs a bargain retirement contract here.

Nobody loves him more than me, but hero status comes with a Cup win, and kinda important that the Cup win happens this year.

Unclear how many more star level PPG seasons he can have in him.

And I have to say, this Matthews-less Leafs team over the last 8 games has been some of the best Leafs hockey I think we've seen in the core 4 era.

I'm almost nervous for Matty to come back and see them all transform into a bunch of lazy loafers again.

"Star TNT personality Biz was assaulted by six men in Scottsdale, AZ last night at Houston’s restaurant. The Scottsdale Police Chief said “There was an altercation inside the restaurant with six men and management. Reportedly, Paul Bissonette tried to assist the management and to calm the men and get them to leave. The situation escalated into the men assaulting Bisonette both inside and outside of the restaurant.” The six men were subsequently arrested and charged with assault and disorderly conduct. Paul was taken to the hospital, but the severity of his injuries were not released. They are not believed to be life-threatening."

Love Houston’s. Part of the Hillstone Group. Great restaurants. I also go there frequently. The kind of place you want to eat every night. Everything on the menu is great, service is fantastic, crowd is the best.
