Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

In the last year he traded for/signed Campebll, Rittich, Hutch and Dell. Its not fair to say he hasn't done anything about it.

And again, Campbell is statistically the best goalie that has moved in the last year.

The Leafs literally have a new starting goalie right now, that has been one of the top goalies in the league this year, and hasn't even lost a game.

And remember, just last year Julien BriseBois (another successful nerd GM who never played the game) was criticized for overpaying for long pants at the deadline -- and we know how that turned out. Now JB seems to have overpaid for Savard...but let's see what happens.

Not really....Dubas wanted that type of player and paid the going rate.

Now, if Foligno underperforms because he's suddenly too old this year...then the trade was bad regardless. You can make a bad trade and still win the Cup. And vice versa.
 
And it's hard to blame dubas for not planning on Fred going from .917 every year suddenly down to .907 then down to .897.

Would be totally unfair but kinda funny to see Hall get the blame for them falling out of a playoffs spot.

Bergeron's game has slipped quite a bit. No mention of that anywhere. That first lien isn't scoring the same and they had nothing else. Their offseason was pretty brutal.

The “poor Dubas, how could he have known?” revisionist history where Fred is concerned is pretty hilarious.

Zekie circling the wagons and spinning up a storm to exonerate Dubas, who apparently is incapable of making any mistakes.

I'd love to have him on the Leafs, but with draft choices going out the window for the next 2 years, I think any loss of high-quality prospects will really affect this team down the line. jmho

It's the Andersen hate that is getting to people. If glasses replaced Freddy with a guy that is just as good as Freddy but has a different name I feel like people would be more content. I mean.. The Campbell trade was arguably the best trade he has ever made. But becasue they still have Freddy he gets the reputation as a guy who is clueless with goalies. Not sure I agree with that.
