Around the League 2019-2024 Edition

Are people really doing boosters still?
It's typically offered alongside flu shots. So if you're one to get an annual flu shot, you're probably gonna get the covid clot shot as well if you haven't been infected for a year! Small uptake for both tho, yeah.

I've never had a flu shot in my life, and stopped with the covid vaccine after the original shot plus one booster.

I started doing flu shots after I got obliterated by a bout one year. I've gotten the flu since but always mild. And yeah since I'm there I'll get the covid clot shot too, though I haven't gotten it every year, only when it's a decent match.

I don't think they're as scary as some people make them out to be. At least I barely get side effects. It is kind of pointless when it's a shit match with the circulating strain tho.

It's not scary, but seems almost unnecessary now. Especially if you have that reaction to it that we had after the first shot, if I recall chills and fever for the rest of the day. No interest in that.

Well I've got a kid that gets all sorts of fucked up when he's sick so if I can reduce my chances of getting sick by 30-40% (the avg risk reduction rate at this point when it's a decent match for flu and covid), that's a pretty good deal for me. I'm not as scared as you about the side effects, so it's not necessarily a chore for me to get poked. Though I haven't had the experience that you had.

I stopped getting that monster flu yearly since I started getting them. They work.

Yeah, kids would change the whole equation for me, probably, based on how I see my friends sick like every other month because their kids constantly bring something home.

Kids in school are the best sort of petri dish.

Have fun giving up your dna

Hasn't evolved nearly enough in quite awhile to spread much. The virus does have more tricks up its sleeve but there hasn't been significant evolution in about a year so population immunity is still strong. Plus summer had a higher infection rate than usual so lots of fresh immunity.

Might as well get the booster with the flu shot if you haven't been infected in at least a year imo. It's a pretty good match.
Stick to gambling

Kid started pre school this year...fun times lol
I hope the reaction was better than mine.

I thought kindergarten was one day and when my mom brought me there on the second day, I did not take it very well.

And that's how my hatred for school started.
