Ottawa is supposed to be ahead of us, especially after the acquisition of Giroux and Debrincat. Lots of good young players too. Goaltending has been shaky though.

Ottawa' backend is young. They play like I expected the Habs to play this year with four rooks.

Still amazed at how poised Guhle is and how smart Harris is with the puck. Harris is older sure but he's efficient with the puck like Markov was, I just don't know if the same offense is there like Markov.

I had high hopes for Guhle. I thought it would take a couple years for him to adapt and look good. He has proven ready from the start. I also assumed Harris would go the free agent route. He has been a nice addition that i had written off. I thought bottom five before season started. Now i think 6-10. They may prove me wrong on that. Arber Xejakj is playing 15 mn a game with 4 points. What the hell is happening this year! WHo would have predicted this going into camp. Maybe Sal I guess.

Guhle was more or less expected, though maybe not this consequential this quickly.
Harris was definitely not expected, his minutes are definitely a reason why the Habs are >>> .500.

Positive environment helps a lot. Everyone felt the weight of the air around Bergevin the past couple of years. Word was Harris wasn't intending to sign with the Habs. Enter Boston boy Gorton and his Montreal/Boston buddy Hughes and Harris changes his mind. That was big for us. It's also why I believe Farrell will sign too.
Truly never expected this from the rookies. I realize it's early but by the end of the month their play, and the goalies, may cause us to miss out bottom three. Especially with how bad Columbus is now and they just lost Werenski for the season.
