Hockey players are, for a very large part, completely insensitive to violence around them. You have slashing, cross checks, spears, checking, etc on every shift and nobody bats an eye. They're even encouraged to use their stick discourage other players from going to the danger areas.
Random thought: The more I watch modern hockey & see some of the other I see hockey from 10-15 years ago, the more I feel enraged that hockey was stuck in the stone ages by these old, conservative dinosaurs for 15 years from 1990 to 2005.
What a fucking waste of time for everyone involved. It is incredible how bad late 90s, early 2000s hockey was.
While hockey hasn't gotten incredibly more entertaining recently, it's still stuck in the stone ages. Stick violence needs to be eradicated from hockey altogether, but we're stuck with a head of office that is all too happy to sit on his fucking ass and count his money, passively doing nothing.
The NFL is the gold standard for a sports league across the planet, as far as I'm concerned, and they aggressively try to figure out ways to make their product better every single off-season. They aren't stuck with this "old time" state of mind because that's the way it is! Yeah, fuck that.
