Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

Not sure it belongs here.. but Fan votes don't really matter for the All star game..

Caulfield was higher then some that got in :(

Max Pacioretty might have popped his achilles again.

If true, that might be it for him. He's a UFA after this season and two blown achilles in less than a year? Bad news bears.

Yeah posted the other view of that in the Canes GDT...
Sucks for Patches... sucks for the Canes but that's far less important..

In a rare good move, Deadmonton made the type of deal I always hope we'd try to do more often: Trade a nothing piece for another team's first round player that hasn't worked.

They got Klim Kostin, and while he isn't a world beater, he's playing himself into an NHL role.

Same as the Leafs taking a chance on Timmins

I favoured both him and Tolvannen over Poehling our draft year. All three are now being given second shots elsewhere.

For awhile it looked like six of one, half dozen the other. Now, alas, it may come to be that yet again a random fan like me once again will come out ahead of Timmins. None of it will probably mean a whole lot, but Poehling may turn out to be the worst of the bunch.

Yup. We did it with Nicholas Beaudin.

I'm always surprised when teams like Chicago & us who are full of nothing players and aren't taking shots left and right on high draft picks that haven't worked out.

You take 'em and they aren't good? Put 'em on waivers and send 'em to the AHL, and don't qualify them after the season.

We didn't pick up dach for scraps but I really liked that deal. A risk worth taking
