Around The League - 2024-25 Regular Season

I don't fear any of Matthews, Marner or Nylander, truthfully.

Players like Ryan O'Reilly scare me way more than them, always have. I don't need much evidence to believe that ROR wants to win way more than those three combined do and you'll see it in his play. He'll do whatever the hell is required.
O'Reilly was very good tonight.

Every game I've watched the crowd chants ref you suck. Just happened in Seattle. Every fan thinks it's unfair. It's fair in its consistency.

true enough although I'm not sure how Rielly didn't get penalized for his hit on Point based on what I saw on highlights
Once you go down that road you start nitpicking about the whole game. As much as it sucks, and it does, it hairball to everyone including Tampa.

For every time you want to point at the refs screwing the Lightning, I can find you examples of them screwing the Leafs. Kind of like when they hit McCabe from behind face-first into the boards in overtime.
Not just that, it was refreshing to see in their barn where the Bolts always get preferential treatment. I've watched countless games there over the years and it's been pretty bad for over a decade.

Every team gets jobbed. Although I don't think this was getting jobbed. Lightning were running out of gas and playing dumb.

Tampa choked at the end of regulation and had their chances to win the game.
Here's the thing though. The Leafs do usually draw less penalties and I think only had 2 two man advantages all regular season. Now part of that I do blame on some players not fighting through it to draw the penalty but if the Leafs never benefited from what is by far the worst officiating of the five major sports then you really would have a case for fuckery.

It was their turn to benefit yes but the truth is Tampa handed it to them.

Is Vasilevskiy really all that good? Or is he also a product of some sort of media hype?

I don't watch him game in and game out, but when I do, I don't see a grade A goalie. Like in the last two series against the Leafs.

Of course, I used to say the same thing about Brodeur, and at times Price. So maybe its me.
There’s a reason Price still has the best sv pct of any goalie in the playoffs post 2004 w 25GP+

Now imagine he actually had margin of error the likes of Brodeur & Vasilevsky had/have…
