Will do. And if you don't, then don't.

This isn't the counter argument you think it is, but whatever man. If you want to get snippets of life philosophy from an evangelical grifter, fill your boots.
This is actually great advice...and a valuable reminder that not all of us here are blessed with luxuries such as a library card, internet access or a television that gets reception beyond community access channels.
Have I been paying anyone? And was I looking for someone to deliver a message upstairs for me? I thought I was pretty clear that there's no religious aspect to those tv sermons. That it's a discussion about life and ethics for the most part.Btw, you got a couple bucks you could give me?
You know, for upgrades to the house and a good word I'll put in for you with god.
But if there's something of value that comes from such a channel, there's no reason for it to be dismissed and ridiculed. This is actually great advice...and a valuable reminder that not all of us here are blessed with luxuries such as a library card, internet access or a television that gets reception beyond community access channels.
Well, you're late to the party, because I initially mentioned having to separate the art from the artist and specifically mentioned him and how his actions don't make The Cosby Show any less of a great tv show.Mine was what you should have said 4 pages ago. But I get it, you like your life coaching from a guy who takes advantage of grandma's.
Since you like your inspiration from hypocritical pieces of shit, check out Bill Cosbys stuff on family values. Great for embroidery on throw pillows.

And yet, I've told you, and you should know without my having to tell you, that I've gotten insights on philosophy and life from more than just 3 hours of Osteen lectures. I'm sorry that I mentioned one such source of worthwhile content to you guys. Clearly wasn't a good move on my part.I just think if you're seeking insights on ethics you can (and should) do 1000x better than Osteen. It's like someone here posting "hey guys. I found a great pizza spot in Toronto called Pizza Pizza"
I guess the biggest thing is that he's a complete hypocrite on the subjects that he preaches about. If he was giving advice on how to make money then I don't think anyone would give a shit about how he preys on people and is a piece of human garbage. We kinda expect that from business men.Yeah, I've watched a handful of sermons and mentioned that I like them. Yip de fucking doo. I didn't realize that meant I sent him my life savings and am going door to door to get converts.
But my question to you is how do you know this? What are you basing it on, simply that he's wealthy? If you were to make these claims about him in public (you kind of are), and he called you on it, you'd have to prove the substance of your allegations lest you be held liable for defaming him. So, what would you point to - that (and this is all I've seen so far from you guys) he tells people that it's good to donate to his church, that it will put them in favor with God? If people are religious and they believe this, or if they just like him, his organization, or those sermons and want them all to continue, who is he preying on?I guess the biggest thing is that he's a complete hypocrite on the subjects that he preaches about. However, he's giving advice on how to be a better person and live a better life, while literally doing the opposite.
So your argument is "if a snake oil salesman convinces people that his bullshit will help them, and it makes them happy... he's not really a conman."But my question to you is how do you know this? Don’t worry about the money worry about the messageThere was the whole, not allowing victims of Hurricane Harvey use his church as shelter thing that was pretty gross.
Even without that though... to live such an extravagant life and such wealth from taking people's money to get them into heaven is really fuckin gross.
