With a goalie, and a functioning PP the Leafs might still be playing. Hopefully the new coaching staff can get that PP rolling again.
Watching teams like Carolina, Tampa, Florida who don't feel like they are out of the game if they are down 1 or 2 goals because of the confidence that they can pull their goalie with a couple minutes left and tie it up.

OMG that shit just is nauseating at this point after going 4% on the PP. this happens every summer. People move on from scoring goals being an issue and it's "Grit".

Thats not really what Berube said though. He said he doesn't give a fuck about past years, and he wants his team to outwork the other team and play fast, north hockey. And he specifically said that he doesn't need players to run guys through the boards, or fight because the game has changed.

The funny thing is he caught a falling knife buy paying him #3/4 money. Falling knives are supposed to be cheap reclamation projects, not the big offseason splash!
Next time he needs to target a guy who can defend too. None of this one-way shit. They already have one of those in the top 4, no room for another. The rest of the d corps was one-way on the other end of the spectrum, which doesn't worth either.

having said that, it would not surprise me if he has a big bounce back season. just don't think we can afford that risk given the rest of our blueline...
