if the nerds were complaining about Bo vs Dunn they were just being dumb because Bo was the tough matchup guy and crucial.

but, it does look like Dunn faced too much competition from Bortuzzo, who sucked, so that might have been the bigger issue.
 
Maybe the nerd Bouwmeester war was in the year after where Berube kept playing him like a top pair guy but he was probably cooked. Memory is hazy but the Dunn nerd worship definitely was a thing. And Berube never really trusted him.

Ya but they won a cup, and going all in on a long time fuckin stud matchup d isn’t the same as doing that with David fucking kampf or whatever. Like I get why a coach leans heavily on a guy like job over a rookie. That’s defensible even if jbo had past the expiry date.
 
I think the Bo-Dunn thing is actually where Dom finally started to realize the importance of qoc, especially after Dunn went to seattle that first year with big minutes and stunk, like so many sheltered dmen had before him.

of course, then Dunn went out and became a stud the next year.

While I agree, the refs seem to job us on the too many men calls all year. We’re held to a higher standard. But also Shelly sucked and we deserved many of them.
 
These playoffs are so eye opening and core 4 should take notice (well management should)

1- Bad goalie performance? No problems, stars show up on the scoresheet.

2- Nothing from the bottom two lines? No problem, stars show up on the scoresheet

3- Hot opponent goalie? No problem, stars show up on the scoresheet

4- Tough, or even unexpected loss? No problem, the stars show up on the scoresheet big next game

5- Bad 5 on 5 performance? No problem, the stars show up on the scoresheet on the PP

6- Top goalies hurt? No problem, the stars show up.

7- Reffing going against you? No problem, the stars still show up.

Yes lots of losses still but the stars show up regardless. Basically every excuse that we have given to Matthews, Marner, and Tavares has been shown to be just that. Excuses.
