Yeah, it was interesting to see Colorado put in one of the worst seasons in recent memory and get the shaft come draft lottery time.

Forget Hudson's Bay Rules, I favour French Foreign Legion Rules: March or die.

The purpose of the Montreal Canadiens (or really any Montreal sports franchise) is not to play the game. It is to win championships playing the game. If they aren't winning championships they have no reason to exist and fans have no reason to pay to watch. There comes a point at which fans have to tell these teams that they have failed us for the last time.

I do feel bad about fans consistently harping about the need for our team to lose and moan after each win. It's unbearable. I'm also unable to watch a game hoping for our team to lose because it's in our best interest. So I just haven't been watching even if I could actually enjoy watching our young players play.

Ahhhh. Ya. I am able to ignore most of that.

When I check the scoreboard I hope we are losing. When I watch the game I hope they win, etc. But at the same time I watch to see the younger players play.

I said them earlier but the one I was specifically mentioning here is that is changes the value of draft picks.

You said to trade for draft picks.

Can you explain a bit more about your proposed system?

eg. all 31 teams with an equal shot at just first overall? put all the names in a hat and draw them out? just the first round? just for non playoff teams?

because if you say just for non playoff teams all we are arguing is where the line is drawn

I was talking all non-playoffs teams. I don't mind all teams but it doesn't provide much benefit over the all non-playoffs teams approach.

The whole season has been awful, I don't think I've enjoyed a single minute of this hockey season, either on the ice or on this board. Can't wait for the playoffs.

yeah the same characters on all boards bringing up "tank" threads in November gets unbearable.

Imagine 3 years like that as some here want.

playoff and non playoff and doing a serpentine draft (for at least the first two rounds)

Yeah, I was just thinking that yesterday.

Even if recent bad seasons we had some stretches that gave way to some form of excitement.

I know under Therrien the good starts to the year at least brought some joy.

This season has been a mess right from the first day of camp and the dreadful pre season record
