definitely missed Willy's possession and zone entries.
Dubas still has some serious work to do before the deadline.
Nylander is a huge loss. Huge.
He's pretty easily their 2nd best 5 on 5 forward. Playing as good as or better than their 11 million dollar man.Since the coach switch, he's been a 35-40 goal, PPG+ winger on the 2nd line. That's star level production, it's impossible to not miss that.
They don't suck but being frustrated by this random 3rd period meltdown thing this weekend is entirely reasonable. They don't have to outplay them but at least be competitive. Really annoying because they're capable of so much better. They are also missing their goalie.
But it doesn't matter. They have played well through all the injuries. 3 out of 4 points with Willy out. We don't have to act like this team sucks after every loss considering how many more wins there have been.
Brutal goal and had no idea where the puck was half the time but he's an upgrade on hutch. But early returns tell me that's probably all he is - an average backup.Good news is that Campbell played well. Not a scrambly, fluked out on a couple big saves played well. Just a steady game. The shot that went through him had a bit of odor to it, but I'll take that effort from my backup any day.
They're gonna miss the playoffs.
Throw out whatever excuses you want, but this team continues to disappoint at every turn.
107 point pace the rest of the way and they're probably in (100 points). Honestly maybe even a 104 point pace gets it done (99 points).
It's really not much of a daunting task considering their skill level and considering their pace under Keefe.
They might miss the playoffs, but if you are disappointed watching the team play at a 110 point pace while Marner and Matthews are two of the best scorers in the league than whats the point of being a fan?
