You can only do that by drafting more talented players and the more you tank, the better your draft position and the greater chance you have to get more talented players who will speed up the development window.

Tanking needs to happen. We are going to be shit either way so tank with purpose. Be great at tanking like Chicago was last year.

Sure makes for some awful unentertaining hockey though. Watching your team get its ass kicked by good teams, at the same time putting in a decent effort. While we can analyze small signs of progress night after night and hope we draft the right guys next year if we didn't this year all over again, its getting awful easy to look at a period and then click over to a game or something that's a little more entertaining.

I'm also the only one who is willing to admit that it is no guarantee. We are halfway to being Buffalo, 10 years of tanking and they still won't make the playoffs. Oilers have two of the top 5 forwards in the NHL and have what 4 playoff series wins to show for it? Next year, y'all will want to tank again. You are all falling into the loser cycle.

I watch but after Dach went down, what did we have to look forward to this year, 80 more exhibition games and posters here whining about wins.
