But didn't you just say michkov would take 2.5 years to come over?So let's see where Reinbacher is in 2.5 years. Kid deserves that no?
I'd take both but Demidov is less proven so far.We have one of them too. His name is Demidov.
Or trade one of the 100 point wingers for a D.Can't argue with two would be better. One on each line.
That's the point. But didn't you just say michkov would take 2.5 years to come over?
Yup but I'd argue that there's really not enough data yet to have an informed decision.I'm fine waiting but early returns have been brutal. His dozen okay games in Laval are doing a lot of heavy lifting to give me any hope.
I think he'll be better than you think. I see a defensive stud like Markov with the work getting done through positioning and stick checking. Offensively I really don't know where to guage him. He's shown some amazing passing ability but his shot isn't that great. Does he have a Markov type ceiling? Maybe. It will depend on his hockey IQ. Markov's was very high.I'd consider him being a middle pair guy a gigantic win at this point.
That's the point.

Is there a coach on a rebuilding team that's doing great though? Maybe Tourigny in Utah, but his young group is also older.Yes I know this but he took the job on a rebuilding team and if you can't navigate the waters then you get out of the boat.
Yup we do but if he can pull Markov offense he's a top pair guy. That's his ceiling. I think his floor is second pair. I also think that's why they went with him because he was a safe pick.A defensive Markov is second pair. So we agree

Hope you are right.Yup we do but if he can pull Markov offense he's a top pair guy. That's his ceiling. I think his floor is second pair. I also think that's why they went with him because he was a safe pick.
Remember also that it took Markov a few seasons in the NHL to figure it all out. But he did.
He’s got quite a few big body crash & bangers creating space for the ballerinasTorts
Isn't he coaching them to use it?He’s got quite a few big body crash & bangers creating space for the ballerinas
Wanting Slaf to play like Tkachuk when that’s just not in his DNA, reminds me of LeClair not playing like Keith Tkachuk back in the day leading to frustration and the deal to Philly - where he did what he was… a big body who doesn’t play mean but drives to the net for rebounds while allowing Lindros to do the dirty work.Isn't he coaching them to use it?
But Philly is not really a rebuilding team imoTorts
Benched? Probably. But would he have benched him twice like Torts did?
Thinking about this again. I'd be over the moon if he turned out like ekholmThat's the point.

Fair but his group is more experienced as well.Torts
